Support I Am Swimming with Zaza
Black Aesthetics has invited me to share my first evening-length piece, I Am Swimming with Zaza, at Judson Memorial Church this Fall.
I Am Swimming with Zaza explores an ongoing intimacy between fact and the fantastical, real and imagined. Zaza is a six-person dance piece and a visual meditation rooted in Colombian-Caribbean spirit traditions concerned with adapting ancestral rituals for a contemporary world.
Due to the termination of National Endowment for the Arts funding, several residency terms and honorariums I was awarded have been cancelled. I had planned to use those resources to support my upcoming performance and now find myself needing to raise funds to bring it to life.
Your support would directly contribute to artist fees, costumes, props, rehearsal needs, and other essential production costs. You can donate here, and every contribution—no matter the size—means the world.
Please also consider sharing this with your network—spreading the word is just as valuable as donating.
Thank you, truly, for supporting this work.
Mil gracias,
Coco
